The word decadent gets thrown about a lot these days but we have yet to find a better descriptor for our latest Rare Breed.
The last Rare Breed of the year is always a special one, and after yet another chaotic year the brewers have pulled out all the stops for this year's finale: a Barrel-Aged Cherry Sour Ale.
We started with a load of Wandin Valley dark cherries and added them to some of the finest French oak Pinot barrels from the Adelaide Hills, before sitting back and letting them work their magic.
After patiently waiting, we loaded up the brew with a mix of sour and dark cherries to really make that cherry pop!
The result of our patience is a soft and delicate cherry sour ale, with tame acidity and a well-rounded finish.
We're tapping Rare Breed Cherry Sour at the brewery in Richmond this Friday 3rd December, with stock rolling out soon after.
Please check with venues directly for the most up to date stock levels and availability.
