This is our second release of an Imperial Stout in our Barrel Breed program. Our Barrel Breeds started a few years ago, the result of our fascination with how the simple storage in oak can impact a beer (or wine and whisky for that matter). This year we again were helped by our mates at Lark Distillery in Tasmania, getting some of their renowned barrels for another year. This is a traditional English-style Imperial Stout with a whisky twist - think dark chocolate and whisky merrily together in your mouth.
Black with a beige foam.
Big, rich roast malt characters, dark chocolatelike. Subtle whisky notes.
Sweet and full to begin, finishes round, warm and smooth.
Aged for two months in oak barrels from Lark Distillery.
Ale, Crystal, Chocolate and Roast.
