We’ve been playing around with oak barrels for a while now and after our 2015 release did rather well at the Australian International Beer Awards, we thought we’d give it another crack. We are fascinated with the influence oak can have on beer, or wine and whisky too. So, after smuggling some more of the sublime Lark whisky barrels over from Tasmania in late 2015, it was time to again send another Barley Wine into oak, and wait...
Deep amber/copper, white foam (will form a chill haze if refrigerated).
Subtle whisky notes, vanilla, toffee, caramel and hints of marmalade.
Sweet, full and rich to begin, whisky notes up front and in the mid-palate, finishing round, warm and smooth.
Aged for two months in Lark whisky barrels.
Ale, Vienna and Pale Crystal.
Super Pride of Ringwood.
