Absolutely. We’re open every Fri eve from 5pm. We have all our beers on tap (including one off crazy batches) and we make good pizzas too. Wed nights we also open from 5 and you can get a free tour at 6. We’re usually brewing Wed nights so it’s a great time to see, hear and smell new batches of Goat coming into the world. We’re at the corner of North and Clark Streets, Richmond
Yep we have good white and red wine, locally distilled specialty single malt whiskies plus gin and vodka. Also have softdtrinks.
The truth is we don’t actually use goats in our beer.
We kinda like the idea of having special beers coming out in certain seasons of the year and the Surefoot really fits well with the colder winter months.
After filling more than 2 million bottles by hand we now have an automated bottling line. It has been a life changing addition to the brewery and we don’t want to hand cap another bottle, ever.
Not sure. Pass.
Yes, it all started in Dave’s backyard in Elsternwick. We’ve still got some detailed brewing journals highlighting the highs and lows of Dave’s early work. Some of his hits were the Salmon’s Runnin’ Stout, Leroy Brown Ale and the Black Dog Dark Brown.
“Show us your hops” as the French would say.
A mountain goat’s a big hairy animal that’s never gonna fall over.
It just comes down to stainless steel kegs and the fact that we don’t own enough of them. When we fill a keg and send it interstate it takes a looot longer to get back here to wash and fill again than keeping kegs just in Melb. So it’s not that we don’t want to but we just have to use our kegs the best way we can til we can afford to buy some more.
i was wondering if Mountain Goat Beer has merchandise? Like a T-shirt would be good to buy home!
