All good things come in threes and our latest collaboration brew is testament to that.
For our latest specialty beer we teamed up with Maker Fine Coffee and Mörk Chocolate to create Mörk and Maker Mocha IPA, a medium bodied, refreshingly hoppy ale with a rich cocoa and coffee flavour.
This beer is the result of three separate brews.
First, we made a batch of coffee using lightly roasted Kenyan Kainamui beans from Maker. These beans produced a full bodied coffee, with bright citrus acidity and notes of grapefruit, blackberry and rich panela.
Mörk provided us with the second brew. Using Trinitario cacao beans from the Ambolikapiky plantation in Madagascar, the Mörk team infused them for 20 hours through a cold brew method, bringing out flavours of grapefruit and sweet lime with a honey finish.
Finally, it was our turn. We added the guest ingredients to a blend of Ale, Vienna, Flaked Barley and Crystal malts and packed in Cascade, Centennial and Amarillo hops to create a refreshingly hoppy beer with a mocha pop.
