Mountain Goat has been brewing craft beers in Richmond since 1997, but it’s been a very long time since we’ve opened our doors to the public on a weekend.

On Saturday 30 July we are doing just that, joined by our mates at Exit Brewing, BrewCult and Fury & Son to create one heck of a beer line-up.

To help keep up with the beers on offer, Mountain Goat’s cracking pizza menu will be available all day as well as Burn City Smokers who are firing up with tasty grilled meats.

A $10 ticket gets you entry, a pint of Goat beer and a chance to win a Mountain Goat Barrel Breed Barley Wine twin pack, containing a bottle each of the 2015 and 2016 vintages. Last year’s release was awarded the Champion Beer at the 2015 Australian International Beer Awards and sold out immediately – this is a very very rare chance to take a bottle home.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Mountain Goat takes the responsible service and consumption of alcohol very seriously. If you feel like having a big one, leave the car at home. Public transport is super easy – jump on the 48 or 75 tram that heads down Bridge Road and get off at Stop 22. We are a 5 min walk down River Road and left at North Street.

Of course, cabs / Ubers are easy too. We are at 80 North Street, Richmond.

What if I don’t drink beer?

You can’t come. No – totally joking! We are happy to swap the ticketed beer with cider or house wine, and would love the opportunity to run through our range (and the other breweries) with you. We believe that there is a beer for everyone – if you don’t like beer you simply may not have come across a style of beer that suits you yet.

We have beer, cider, wines and a selection of non-alcohol drinks available, as well as free drinking water.

What about food options?

We’ve got that covered too. Hardcore carnivore? The pop-up from Burn City Smokers have you covered. Vegetarian or vegan more your thing? Mountain Goat pizzas have a number of choices for you. Gluten not your friend? We’ve got gluten-free bases too.

Can I reserve a table?

It’s pretty cruisy here at Goat. Same as our Wednesday and Friday nights, we don’t take reservations but the space is big enough to find your spot, no matter how big your group is.

Will any brewing be happening?

No brewing but you’ll find brewers from all the breweries involved propping up the bar throughout the day. For those keen to have a look behind the scenes, we are running a free tour with the brewers at 3pm. Simply sign up at the bar to secure your spot.

Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Shoot any queries through to or call 03 9428 1180 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm).

Will we see goats?

No. There are no goats (of the animal variety) at the brewery, however if big hairy things get your interest, some brewers will be around to say g’day to.

Is my ticket transferrable?

If you are keen enough to read this event page, we would obviously love to have to round! If unfortunate circumstances should happen, don’t let that ticket go to waste. Pass it on to a mate – every ticket can only be scanned once and the person holding it is the one that will get in.
