We’ve just broken up with Maxine.

It’s mutual, and we’ll be ok, but its a big thing to actually see her walk out the door.

She’s been sitting, brooding in the corner these last few weeks while we bottle with our new line so its best for her that she leaves and gets on with her life.

We’d been together since early 2005. She bottled Hightail, IPA, Pale Ale, Steam Ale, Stout – and some long neck IPAs and Stouts. She took us from hand bottling, hand capping and hand labelling to the big wide world of button-pushing, automatic bottle filling. She has been a central figure in recent Mountain Goat history – we couldn’t have done it without her.

It makes us feel better to know that she’s going to a happy place, and that she’ll be in good hands. The boys from Kooinda Brewery have just whisked her away. They remind us alot of ourselves a few years back, and we reckon Maxine will slot in perfectly.

So goodbye Maxine, thanks for everything. We wish you all the very best.

Love,

Goats.
